Before you place

Block entity: costs server memory, keep counts low

States

8 combinations

facing north, south, west, east: Direction pointing AWAY from the block it hangs on. The thing sits against the opposite side of its cell: facing=north means it is attached to the block to the south.
waterlogged true, false: true puts a water source inside the block (water renders around it). Always false for dry builds.
